Poole Park Activity Centre is a small inland watersports centre located in the heart of Poole Town. We are currently seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to join our team as a Seasonal Centre Manager, playing a key role in providing a fun and exciting experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

1. Management of the Centre Team:

  • Provide high-quality, organised customer service to all our clients
  • Maintain the standards outlined in the company’s standard and local operating procedures
  • Ensure the team’s attitude towards work, personal presentation, and customer service aligns with the company ethos
  • Manage the centre team effectively to create a safe, well-organised, motivated, and happy environment for clients and team members
  • Ensure the centre operates efficiently and professionally

2. Safety of clients and team onsite and during activities:

  • Ensure clients and staff are aware of and follow safety procedures and policies
  • Monitor and evaluate staff regularly
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate induction, centre orientation, and training for their roles, including understanding SOPs, LOPs, accident, incident, and fire procedure documents

3. Centre Administration:

  • Respond to inquiries and answer questions promptly
  • Manage phone calls and return messages
  • Process payments and bookings using our online system Cinolla
  • Act as the point of contact onshore and for first aid
  • Welcome clients, manage guest sign-in/out, and coordinate with teachers to ensure accurate bookings
  • Handle certification, course paperwork, and general office administration
  • Assist in running events as per the marketing plan to attract potential and existing visitors
  • Maintain staff paperwork, including working records and timesheets

4. On water delivery:

  • Teach a variety of water activities (dependent on qualifications)
  • Provide on-water senior cover (dependent on qualifications)
  • Support the hire team in equipment rentals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the watersports or leisure industry is desirable
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Passion for watersports, customer service excellence, and promoting a positive team culture
  • Current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (can be provided through Rockley)
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word & Excel
  • RYA Senior Instructor Certificate. (Essential)
  • Current First Aid (Essential)
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2 (Essential)
  • BC Paddlesport Instructor (Essential)
  • RYA Windsurf Instructor (Desirable)
  • Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor (Desirable)
