While developing a love for watersports she realised that this was something she wanted to pursue as a career: “I was paddleboarding and stuff really just for the fun of it and then kind of thought actually, I really want to do this seriously, so I joined the Traineeship which then lead to the Apprenticeship.”
Following the Traineeship, Hannah worked a season at Buddens Activity Centre where she gained invaluable hands-on experience and lead a range of sessions for schools and groups. Hannah has since gained a plethora of qualifications including her: Paddlesport Instructor, ERCA Instructor (European Ropes Course Association), Windsurf Instructor, Powerboat Level 2 and a range of in-house qualifications. It was ultimately her level of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn which earned her a spot on the coveted Apprenticeship programme and she’s really embracing the opportunity. “I love being around and working with the students currently on the course.”
And for her future plans: “I want to be involved with instructing and teaching and continue to gain even more qualifications especially around climbing and ropes!”
As to whether Hannah fits in, Andy, Manager of Buddens Activity Centre commented: “She really interacts well with both young people and teachers which makes her very approachable and amiable, and is really important in this job. She’s bubbly, motivated and is a great leader. She has a real hands-on approach and clearly enjoys learning and being outdoors which makes her a perfect match for the Apprenticeship programme.”
