Each student at Rockley College is assigned a personal tutor who serves as their main point of contact throughout their educational journey. Personal tutors provide individualised support, helping students navigate academic and personal challenges. Also, acting as the primary contact for parents, ensuring open and effective communication.
Our teaching staff is composed of fully qualified professionals who are not only experts in their subjects but also trained in mental health first aid and safeguarding. This means they are equipped to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, addressing both the academic and emotional needs of our students.
Rockley College prides itself on having practical tutors who are industry specialists. These tutors bring a wealth of real-world experience and passion to their teaching, offering students invaluable insights and hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for their future careers.
We recognise the significance of equipping students for life beyond college. Rockley are committed to offering students access to industry connections and career planning guidance. All students complete a unit called 'Preparing for a Career in Sport and Physical Activity' and a work experience unit. We also have access to a careers advisor at our partner school who provides targeted one-on-one sessions.
As industry specialists, we possess a wealth of knowledge and offer advice on potential opportunities in sport and watersports. Careers education is integrated into the tutor system, and we utilise a platform called Unifrog to support our learners with their next steps. Whether through apprenticeships, job placements, or career advice, we assist students in taking the next step toward their professional aspirations.
At Rockley College, we are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder a student's education. For those who qualify, we offer free school meals and bursary support, helping to alleviate some of the financial pressures and allowing students to focus on their studies.
