Rockley Watersports is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking three-year partnership with Alan Huang from Hangzhou, China. This collaboration aims to bring Chinese students to Rockley’s, Rockley Point Sailing Centre for Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training courses. This marks a significant step in expanding our international reach and fostering a love for sailing among young beginners and enthusiasts alike from China.
Starting in 2025, Alan Huang will bring 50 students to Poole, with numbers set to increase to 75 in 2026 and 100 in 2027. These students will participate in one-week RYA training courses, gaining invaluable skills and experiences on the water.
The collaboration, as part of the World sailing programme, continues a decade-long relationship with Alan which, which, in recent years, has also given more experienced sailors the opportunity to gain their RYA Dinghy Instructor qualification at Rockley Point.
Jack Clark, Head of Sales and Marketing at Rockley Watersports said: “We are incredibly excited to embark on this journey with Alan Huang and welcome Chinese students to our Rockley Point Sailing Centre. This partnership not only strengthens our international ties but also provides a unique opportunity for students to experience the highest level of sail training in a world-class environment. We look forward to helping grow participant numbers in China and sharing our passion for sailing with a new generation of sailors.”
Rockley Point Sailing Centre is renowned for its exceptional delivery of watersports training and experienced instructors, making it the perfect venue for this exciting new venture. Students will benefit from a comprehensive sailing programme that covers essential sailing techniques, safety procedures, and teamwork, all while enjoying the stunning coastal scenery of Poole.
This partnership underscores Rockley's commitment to promoting sailing as a global sport and providing unparalleled training opportunities to young sailors worldwide. We look forward to a successful and enriching collaboration as we welcome students from China in 2025 and over the next three years.
