In 1976 Rockley Watersports opened its doors to its first students with a handful of boats and a couple of caravans on the beach at Rockley Point, Poole.
During the past four decades Rockley Watersports has gone from strength to strength and can now boast that it is the largest commercial watersports training company in the UK. There are now five Rockley centres, three of which are in France and two in the UK. Over 10,000 people are welcomed every year on training courses, school activity trips and watersports holidays.
Pip Woods, Managing Director said of the milestone anniversary: “Last year was a great year for us as we achieved several business goals with the launch of our Leap for Success Scholarship, brand new ‘Get Active’ family holidays in France and the China RYA Instructor training programme.
“The London Boat Show is a great starting point for us as we kick off a year-long programme of celebrations, promotions and offers to coincide with our 40th anniversary and that will focus on where Rockley began, going back to the Company’s roots of teaching people to sail.
