Poole Park Lake is our second watersports centre based in Poole and is perfectly positioned to provide all kinds of water activities to the local community and beyond.

Environmental improvements

Following extensive scientific research, the lake is currently undergoing improvements as part of a £2.7 million National Lottery funded project which promises to improve both the quality of the water and biodiversity of the boating lake. For a company that is currently developing its own long-term strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, Rockley are extremely excited about the steps that have been taken to conserve the Lake and surrounding area.

Fun for the children and adults (but especially the children!)

As always, Rockley will be offering a huge range of affordable activities for young people, adults and families. It’s a sheer playground of fun for children with our action-packed holiday camps which are available during every school holiday. Our weekend clubs are available from 20th April 2019 and operate every weekend until October - they offer great value for those who really want to develop their skills. Youngsters can also participate in 2-hour taster sessions, equipment hire including stand up paddleboards, kayaks and pedalos or book on to our 2-day RYA courses for those aged seven and eight years old. And for any parent who wants to be in favour with their little ones then our 2-hour birthday parties are great fun!

For the adults it’s all about taster sessions, RYA courses, evening sailing sessions and equipment hire throughout the season so plenty for you to do as well!

How our local schools make the most of it!

We are hugely proud of the fact that Poole Park is a facility also widely used by Poole and Bournemouth schools – for many young people it has been the start of their love of a new sport. Poole Park is an incredibly important part of the business because it is making watersports accessible to all – which is at the very heart of what we do. Poole Park Manager AJ said: “Over the years we have seen thousands of youngsters enjoy our facilities. Each week we have local primary and secondary students get on the water, learn new skills and really have fun as part of their school day or after-school club. It’s been great for me getting to know the teachers and watching these young individuals really benefit and grow as individuals from being outside and on the water.”

FREE school events

Poole Park is also the venue of the annual Sailing Regatta and ‘Can Do’ festival which invites local schools to take part in friendly competition. Run over four days, the event is completely FREE to all local schools and sees over 500 children getting on the water. Why is it free? Again, this goes back to the fact that we want all children to experience watersports at least once. Living where we do it seems a shame that youngsters should not get the opportunity to have a go! This year, the event will be held again from 10th-11th June (Can Do Festival) and 13th-14th June (Dorset School Games.) Please contact [email protected] for further information

The secret of Poole Park's success

According to Managing Director Pip Woods: “One of the main reasons why Poole Park has been so successful is very much down to the dedication, passion and hard work of our Poole Park Manager, AJ. What she has achieved over the years has been absolutely incredible both for us as a business and also for the local community.”

We look forward to welcoming you all to Poole Park over the coming months.
