We have received high praise for Dorset's first Can Do Festival watersports events. The inaugural Can Do Festival featured watersports events that were the first of its kind to be run in Dorset.

For three consecutive years, we and Active Dorset have collaborated to provide hundreds of Dorset school children the opportunity to get on the water and compete to represent their school. With the introduction of the 'Can Do' Festival the opportunity to get on the water and try sailing and watersports spreads its reach to all schools and helps in the joint aim to increases watersports participation.

Active Dorset School Games Organiser, Nadia Kusminoff and Rockley Watersports Poole Park Centre Manager, AJ Windsor worked closely together to host the Primary and Secondary School watersports events of both the 'Can Do' Festival and Dorset School Games.

The two-day event saw pupils from Primary and Secondary County schools experience dinghy sailing, kayaking and land games with the Rockley team, followed by an afternoon of team kayak racing in Poole Park Lake. Results below.

Commenting on the success of the first events AJ said: “We have had a great two days with the children on the water. This event has made it possible for us to promote the benefits of sailing and watersports to all schools and encourage participation at every level. After all of the praise we have received from the Schools and Active Dorset I am already looking forward to hosting the events again next year.”
