Some of the most special weekends of our year are the Siblings' Weekends we host in partnership with Julia’s House, and this year was no exception! Every time, the children fill our centres with laughter, energy, and an incredible sense of joy.
In August, we welcomed 20 children to Buddens Activity Centre for a weekend of outdoor adventure, fun on the water and marshmallows around the campfire.
Thank You!
As ever, sibling worker, Maria Carroll joined the children on their weekend adventure.
"I wanted to send you a HUGE THANK YOU! We have all said this was the best camp so far and everyone was buzzing when they left. Every member of staff on site made us feel welcome, interacted with our children and genuinely cared that we had the best time. The camp we had was perfect for our logistics and we have plenty of space to let the children be just that, something these siblings don’t often get a chance to do.
"We fed so well that the comments from everyone was that they could always find something they liked and it all tasted so good.
"You kept us safe, busy and ensured we made the best memories. We are so grateful that you support us in this way and enable us to give these children some special time out."
Valued Relationship
Rockley has long been a proud supporter of Julia’s House – whether through charitable events or by taking on countless physical challenges. Among the initiatives closest to our hearts is the Siblings’ Weekend, which we are honoured to provide.
Managing Director Pip Woods said: "For many years, we have been offering free weekends to the siblings of young people with life-limiting conditions. These weekends are about offering fun experiences, creating memories and connecting with others who truly understand their situation. It is our absolute pleasure to be able to provide some joy to such inspirational individuals."
