Job Role Summary
Rockley is thrilled to be offering an exciting opportunity to join our Catering Team at Buddens Activity Centre, in a General Kitchen Assistant role.
As an Assistant Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Chefs in preparing meals for up to 380 guests on a weekly basis. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
The catering team are at the heart of the centre - ensuring a high standard of food preparation, providing nutritious food, looking after clients.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- The preparation and serving of hot and cold meals under lead chefs’ guidance
- Assisting with ordering for specific sections of the kitchen
- To assist the Head Chef & Chefs in the running of the kitchen and staff to include overseeing the Kitchen porters
- To help the front of house staff to maintain a clean and tidy canteen/restaurant
- Maintaining all records of in-house HACCP systems to include regular food samples taken/the labelling of all food stuffs/daily fridge temps/playing an active role in food safety and advanced knowledgeallergen regulations
- Maintaining the food standards set out by the Head Chef
- Working in conjunction with the current health and food safety regulations
- Help maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Three years’ experience plus working in a busy kitchen is desirable
- One years’ experience of working within a commercial kitchen environment desirable
- A positive friendly manner
- Uphold a clean and smart appearance
- Show a willingness to learn and progress
- Have a DBS Check - this can be done on your behalf by Rockley
